An Australian designer with an international reputation, Ken’s prolific work encompasses all facets of corporate and brand management and design. His philosophy of design is dynamically holistic, providing the synergistic solutions that produce positive results. He has won countless international design awards, and his work is represented in museums and galleries around the world.
A long-standing member of Alliance Graphic Internationale and a past AGI President, Ken has previously been awarded the first Australian
Honorary Doctorate of Design and inducted into the
‘Hall of Fame’ of the inaugural Victorian Design Awards. He is also a foundation member of the Australian Writers and Art Directors Association, a member of the
American Institute of Graphic Arts, ICOGRADA,
Design Institute of Australia, Australian Marketing Institute, Industrial Design Council of Australia, and is Patron of the Australian Academy of Design.
Ken is regularly invited to speak at international symposia and is an acclaimed author who has written numerous books, including First Choice, Design for Business,
The View from Australia and Design by Thinking. In 2006 Ken was honoured with the Premiers Award for design leadership from the Premier of Victoria.
Graham Purnell
Creative Director and Company Partner
Graham’s unwavering commitment to excellence in design has led to an enviable international reputation.
His considerable talents and expertise can be seen in international design publications including DandAD, Design Downunder and Graphis. His highly developed skills and creative approach have led to the success
of thousands of projects for hundreds of clients around
the world.
Graham completed a Master of Arts at the Royal College of Arts in London in 1984 before taking up the position
of Senior Designer with Minale Tattersfield.
Subsequently, Graham spent over three years working in Singapore as Design Director enhancing his skills in the strategic area of corporate identity design, packaging and annual reports.
Since joining Cato Purnell Partners in 1994,
Graham was appointed Creative Director in 1998 and became Company Partner with Ken Cato in 2001.
He has been involved with a wide variety of projects leading the design teams. His highly developed skills and creative approach have been vital to the success of projects for clients such as Energex, Coles Farmland, Kraft, NestlĂ© NescafĂ©, Primelife, Royal Guidedogs Association, Suncorp Metway, Foster’s Australia, IAG, Woolworths, BenQ and many others.
Peter Wilson

Peter has strategically led national, regional and global branding programs for numerous significant integrated communication projects and clients.
With 20 years experience, his intuitive and analytical skills contribute to his reputation and success as a strategist. His extensive experience in brand management roles within public and private sector organisations and in leading effective communications programs enables clients across numerous industries to achieve
measurable results.

member of our team, Trish spent 18 years as the
principal of her own formidable Marketing, Communications and Event company, successfully bridging the gaps between sales, marketing and corporate/business-to-business communication.
Her vast experiences on both the National and International business stage has seen her deliver many outstanding, strategic campaigns under a variety of practices to many industries including Food and Beverage, Travel and Hospitality, Motor, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Government, Entertainment, Telecommunications, Tourism and Retail.
